5 Live Freshwater Bee Shrimp (.5″ to 1″ Young Adults – Wild Form of Crystal Red/Black Shrimp) + Java Moss by Aquatic Arts (formerly InvertObsession)
Bee Shrimp are directly related to the notorious Crystal Black and Crystal Red Shrimp. They usually have a striking white and black or white and brown coloration; their colors and patterns tend to vary more than CBS and CRS. However, these also stand out magnificently against any backdrop or substrate and are generally easier to care for and breed, due to their lower sensitivity to aquarium conditions. Thus, these are better suited for beginners who are newly entering the dwarf shrimp hobby.
This pack comes with 5 Bee Shrimp (although I usually ship an extra), plus some free strands of java moss - a low-light plant that thrives in almost any aquarium and improves water quality. We generally send young adult shrimp that range from 1/2 to 1 inch in length.
RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS:
- PH level range: 6.2 to 6.8
- Temperature range: 65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit
- Water type: Soft
- Recommended Aquatic Arts tank mates: Other types of dwarf shrimp (such as Green Babaulti shrimp, Blue Velvet shrimp, Neon Yellow Shrimp, etc.), various types of snails (such as Nerite Snails, Sulawesi Snails, etc.). They can also be kept with small to medium-sized, non-aggressive fish.
- Additional notes: Relatively easy to care for - similar to other dwarf shrimp species. Dwarf shrimp prefer to live in tanks with live aquatic plants (such as java moss, willow hygro, green cabomba, etc.). This is because dwarf shrimp like the cover that plants provide, they love to graze on the plants for algae, and the plants help keep the water clean for them.
- All Aquatic Arts (formerly InvertObsession) brand plants and animals come with a 100% live arrival guarantee, plus free email support directly from the owners!
- The colony of shrimp work as a very effective cleaning crew for your tanks, cleaning up algae and waste!
- Fantastic coloration is sure to stand out in your aquariums, especially on green plants!
- These are the shrimp from which Crystal Red and Crystal Black Shrimp were bred. However, Bee Shrimp are much hardier than CRS and CBS.
- Easy to keep in a home freshwater aquarium - no special equipment is needed for these exotic animals.
