Everyone has their own method for cleaning and changing water, but this is what I do for my 55 gallon in an apartment where I only have access to a sink. The back wall gets pretty dirty, and when I clean it the water gets dirty. The solution for me is to flush the water after cleaning the walls. I've had this tank up and running for several years with no problems and have always used this cleaning method.

Nice tank but u might want a better filter/pump. I have the same filter for
my 20 gallon tank and it worked fine. However when I got a 60 gallon tank I
found that the same pump it wasn’t keeping up to the pace of the dirtiness.
So I got a very large pump and filter system and its been going well for 5
years now.

Was that being filled with chlorinated water?
I just purchased a 55 gallon tank and I’m nervous yo do a water change like
that its been running for about 4 months but do not want to harm my fish
I’ve had them for over 4 years .. Good video !

So you don’t have to take your fish out at all to clean your tank?…that

i just finished a planted 55 gallon , mostly tetras, and a few mollys,
platys , and some tiger barbs, me and my girlfriend was just given another
55 gallon and we want to do a angel tank, i was going to get a couple
german blue rams for it as well, but i may get a couple convicts instead,
so my question is , does your convicts mess ith your angels very much?

I am a new aquarium owner. I was under the impression you should mix your
water with conditioner before you add it to the tank? Is this an incorrect
assumption? Do you add conditioner to your water? My aquarium is 37
gallons.

I use a product called SeaChem Prime which is a red/white bottle and you
just add a cap full. I do it when my tank is almost done filling and the
filter is running. You want plenty of circulation going when you add it.

I do what you see in this video about once a month, no problems so far.
Cichlids sure do love fresh water! This tank has recently been changed
quite a bit, check out my other videos for the update.

While the tank is filling and there is a lot of water circulation I add a
product called Prime which removes chlorine, chloramine, ammonia,
detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, and provides slime coat. It only takes a
cap full for this size tank. I’ve used it for a long time with no problems,
highly recommended.
